Rencontres Universitaires et Scientifiques de Haut Niveau (RUSH) — or High Level Academic and Scientific Meetings — is a prestigious bilateral academic and scientific gathering scheduled for 18 & 19 February 2026 at AIIMS, New Delhi.

This landmark event is a cornerstone of the France–India Year of Innovation and coincides with the State Visit of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, to India, highlighting the strategic importance of higher education, research and innovation within the France–India partnership.

Convening in the presence of the Education Ministers of France and India, RUSH 2026 aims to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries in key areas of:

A Unique France–India Academic Platform

One of its kind, this two-day high-level academic meeting will gather leading French and Indian institutions, academics and researchers to assess ongoing bilateral initiatives such as the Franco-Indian Health Campus, Classes Internationales and vocational training programmes. It will also address shared concerns and systemic challenges within both higher education systems, including quality assessment frameworks, international student mobility, UGC regulations, and alignment with India’s National Education Policy (NEP).

RUSH 2026 will facilitate the development of common strategies aligned with the Horizon 2027 Roadmap, thereby paving the way for sustainable, structured and forward-looking bilateral collaborations.

From Dialogue to Concrete Outcomes

One of the major highlights of RUSH 2026 will be the formal recognition of degrees, projects and research collaborations co-presented by French and Indian partners.

This formal recognition confirms that ongoing dialogues between the two countries are translating into measurable, structured and concrete results — strengthening institutional partnerships and advancing academic excellence.
