Born in 1978, Céline Malraux is a writer, filmmaker, and researcher whose work explores the intersections of literature, visual storytelling, and social engagement. As the grand-niece of the French statesman André Malraux, she has published a diverse body of work, including a biography of Madeleine Malraux. She also has in her repertoire portraits of Guadeloupean figures, short stories focusing on contemporary women, a poetic journey through Caribbean urban spaces, and a novel addressing the question of euthanasia.
Alongside her writing, she has directed both short and feature-length documentaries filmed in the Caribbean, and led a French-language theatre company in New York. She has also been actively involved in cultural and social initiatives, establishing Caribbean branches of an organization dedicated to rehabilitation in prison through reading.
Currently completing a PhD in literature through a practice-based research program, she also serves as a jury member for the André Malraux Prize (literature and essays on art) and chairs the National Commission marking the Fiftieth anniversary of the death of André Malraux.
