As part of the celebrations of Francophonie, the Institut français en Inde is organising a national Grande Dictée (Grand Dictation Challenge) across institutions throughout India.

In 2026, this special edition, under the theme “Travel & Escape”, brings together two major literary landmarks:

  • The Little Prince — marking 80 years since publication
  • André Malraux — commemorating 50 years since his passing

Whether you are a student, teacher, or French language enthusiast, this is your opportunity to take part in a collective celebration of language, literature, and imagination.

Dictée - Francophonie 2026 - Andre Malraux

On 17 March 2026, students from the four International Lycée Français Schools in India had taken part in a simultaneous in-class dictation, under the supervision of their French teachers.

This session is based on a text by André Malraux and contributes to the national commemoration marking 50 years since his passing.
